Tbilisi - Subjective point of view
So called “Italian Yards” whispered me some tails about beautiful ladies standing on this balconies in the evening and listening to long serenades of deadly in loved man, candlelight swimming in the night… those yards also remember gossips and chatterboxes spending most of their time on these balconies, fun and drama… yards, where several families lived with one life, laughed and suffered together… sometimes I believe those whispers, sometimes I don’t… yet I see several families, usually even different nationality living as one… old balconies hanging over my head…
Usually I’m asked, what’s’ the symbol of the city, like Eifel Tower for Paris, I think its Bathes… Sulfur Bathes… surely as soon as you enter Tbilisi somebody will tell you a legend about founding the city in the IV century, about warm springs and king Vakhtang (do not bother to pronounceJ ), whose sculpture is standing just across the river, I won’t bother.. I love that place, Meidan and Sulfur Bathes… sounds oriental even for me…
Old fortress looking from the mountain, another church across the river… there are a loot of churches in Tbilisi, in Georgia too, and not in vain, religion is every were in here, its always a problem to enter church during prayers, people are for religion…
Wondering through Sharden Street… nice place to spend long worm evenings there with a glass of red wine, walking there I feel spirit of Europe…
Its much too difficult to judge what it Tbilisi like: European or Asian city, I think that its neither European, nor Asian, somewhere in the middle, with a big portion of Soviet era influence, as soon as u leave Old town and central street Rustaveli, architectural style of Soviet Era becomes obvious…
Maybe the reason is that I found myself “homeccountryadicted” when I was away from here, maybe the reason is that Tbilisi is really beautiful city… I do not know, you have to explore it yourself… its hole world gathered chaotically in 1,5 mln people city, not so big, enough to feel yourself lost in chaos and roar, easy to feel yourself part of it, yet easy not to understand it…
